Project Case Studies

The projects below demonstrate i.on renewables' experience leading complex commercial and utility-scale solar developments from early-stage planning through financing, construction, and successful project delivery. Contact us to learn more.

19.6 MWdc Mid Island Solar Farm

Located in Mastic, New York, the Mid Island Solar Farm was one of the largest solar PV projects in the Northeast at the time of completion.

I led the project through final development, engineering, financing, construction, and commissioning, including arranging the project financing with East West Bank.

The approximately 19.6 MWdc project occupies a developed footprint of roughly 69 acres, includes approximately 67,000 solar modules, and generates up to approximately 34 GWh of electricity annually—enough to serve approximately 4,000 Long Island homes.

The project required extensive zoning, environmental review, utility coordination, financing, and construction management.

8.6 MWdc Brookhaven Landfill Solar Project–Phase I

This project transformed a capped municipal landfill in the Town of Brookhaven into a productive renewable-energy asset.

I led the project through Ready-to-Build status, including site control, lease negotiations with the Town, interconnection with PSEG Long Island, coordination with NYSDEC, permitting, engineering, system design, construction oversight, and commissioning.

The project was ultimately acquired by Coast Energy. Phase II under development—another 14.5 MWdc development.

1.5 MWdc Holtsville Ecology Solar Project

The Holtsville Ecology Solar Project is a ground-mounted solar facility developed on municipal property in the Town of Brookhaven.

I managed the project’s development, utility coordination, permitting, engineering, commercial structuring, construction, commissioning, and sale to Coast Energy.

The project demonstrates i.on renewables’ ability to coordinate complex municipal, utility, regulatory, and financing requirements and advance projects from concept through commercial operation.

2.4 MWdc Pennysaver Amphitheater Solar Carport Project

The Pennysaver Amphitheater project involved the development of a large solar carport system at an active municipal event facility in Farmingville, New York.

I coordinated the Town of Brookhaven, PSEG Long Island, engineering teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate the solar canopy into the existing parking and event infrastructure.

The project combines renewable-energy generation with covered parking and demonstrates the successful deployment of solar infrastructure at a highly visible public facility.
